1. Kuala Lumpur, the bustling capital city

2. Ringlet

Recommended stay: 2 nights

Travel from Kuala Lumpur

  • Bus or private transfer: 3.5–4.5 hours
  • Self-drive: approximately 3.5 hours

Often overshadowed by Tanah Rata and Brinchang, Ringlet is the oldest town in the Cameron Highlands and offers a more peaceful, authentic highland experience. Surrounded by emerald-green tea plantations, strawberry farms, waterfalls and rolling hills, Ringlet is an excellent base for exploring the southern part of the Cameron Highlands while avoiding the larger tourist crowds.

Travel information

Ringlet is located at the southern entrance to the Cameron Highlands and is easily reached from Kuala Lumpur by bus, private transfer or rental car. It also serves as a convenient stop when travelling onwards to Ipoh or returning to Kuala Lumpur for a domestic flight to Malaysian Borneo.

Tip: Visit on weekdays if possible, as weekends and public holidays can bring significant traffic to the Cameron Highlands, especially around the more popular towns of Tanah Rata and Brinchang.

3. Kuching, Sarawak
