Köln Flora in spring
I went out for a walk to the Köln Flora yesterday and found it to be resplendent with flowers. The sight was a treat for sore eyes and I walked around with a smile on my face. I was not the only one and everyone I met had smiles on their faces. We all seemed to be saying, ´We are alive again. The sun is shining and the flowers are back´. It is quite understandable because this winter was unusually long. There were too many gray, frosty days and snowy evenings and it was so dark that my heart almost sank. Sun was absent for as long as one could remember and the sleet-like rain made the days freezing cold. Spring finally arrived last week and we all went outside to rejoice in the sun. Birds are busy chattering once again: tweeting and building nests, the skies are blue, and flowers are pushing out from every nook and cranny. There are daffodils, snowdrops, hyacinths, and primroses. Tulips with their multi-coloured bulbs are painting the town red and oh! it´s a wonderful thing to be alive and outside at this time of the year. It´s so beautiful that I just had to share photos of the Köln Flora and to compliment the essay, here are some of the loveliest spring quotes.
Spring won’t let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again.
